LEARNING

For the past ten years the McIlrath Farm has offered workshops that bring outstanding instructors together with students from around the country to a welcoming community in a beautiful natural environment.

The farm is a state of the art teaching facility located in a quiet valley of the Driftless Region of Western Wisconsin near Lake Pepin. The landscape is spectacular with rolling hills, creeks, and views of the Mississippi River bluffs. Studios have been architecturally designed in the 2010 restoration of the 19th century timber frame barn and the 2005 renovation of the grainary. With capacity for both small and large groups of working artists, it includes an exhibition hall and gallery, four large classroom spaces, a private painting studio, kitchen, rest rooms, outdoor/screen porch gathering spaces and gardens. The farm is the home of Barbara and Rob McIlrath in the center of Hick's Valley, two miles north of Pepin on County Road N.
